Hypnotherapy
Strange and Mysterious? Not at all! Hypnosis is a natural state of consciousness achieved through relaxation and focus. When our active, thinking mind (beta brain activity) is quiet and we achieve direct access to the subconscious mind (alpha and theta brain activity) we are able to change the way we think about things by stating our desires and making suggestions to release old thought and behavior patterns.
Those having undergone hypnosis say that it is a relaxing experience. Indeed, it has been said that 20 minutes in hypnosis is equivalent to four hours of sleep.
Almost everyone has the ability to be hypnotized as long as they are willing to be hypnotized and able to concentrate and relax. Essential to a good hypnotic experience is trust in your therapist, feeling safe in the environment, and the ability to allow yourself to let down boundaries which would keep you from entering this peaceful and relaxing state of mind.
A typical first session would consist of an interview period lasting about 45 minutes in which the client is assessed for suseptability, cognitive patterns, and intention for the session. At that time, I allow the client to determine whether hypnosis is something they are willing to try. If so, we can either go ahead with the session at that time or schedule it for a later date. If you decide not to pursue hypnotherapy at that time, you will not be charged for the interview session.
If hypnotherapy is something you’re interested in but have questions or concerns, I encourage you to give me a call for a free, 15 minute, consultation.
